So what is the SMSNomad Branch Add-on? In some
environments not every physical site has an SMS Site Server/ Distribution
Point. Such sites are normally connected to the site where there is an SMS
Site Server/ Distribution Point via a WAN connection and this is where
problems can occur.
The last thing you want is for all of your machines connecting over such
connections at once congesting the network and causing your distributions to
timeout/ fail. This is where the SMSNomad Branch Add-on comes into play. You
simply nominate one PC known as the 'Master' PC. This PC then connects to
the Site Server/ Distribution Point at the main office and downloads the
required software. Any other PCs at the Branch then contact this Master PC
to install their software from rather than each PC having to cross the WAN
connection in order to retrieve the software. To find out more on the
