Agent Status Set to "Ignore Forever" doesn't work

Does anyone have any idea why setting an agent to "Ignore Forever" does not ignore at all?

For example, we are working with a set of servers that are going through disaster recovery testing. We wanted to disable the agents from reporting without having to go to each server and stop the service. Naturally you would think Ignore Forever would do just that. However, we are still getting errors, etc, from that server.

I'm beginning to wonder if this function is meant to work with an agent that is not responding? Therefore I would still have to stop the agent service to prevent errors, etc, from being sent. Ignore Forever may prevent MOM from erroring on not being able to contact an agent but not prevent it from receiving information if it is sent?

The Ignore Forever is only used if you are not interested in getting alerts based on agent heartbeat failures. MOM unfortunately does not have the means to place a server in maintenace mode. The only option you have is to stop the OnePoint service. The Consolidator will still receive events from the agent(s) if you use the Ignore Forever option unless of course you stop the OnePoint service.
