Agent Status Set to "Ignore Forever" doesn't work |
|
| Does anyone
have any idea why setting an agent to "Ignore Forever" does not ignore at
all? For example, we are working with a set of servers that are going through disaster recovery testing. We wanted to disable the agents from reporting without having to go to each server and stop the service. Naturally you would think Ignore Forever would do just that. However, we are still getting errors, etc, from that server. I'm beginning to wonder if this function is meant to work with an agent that is not responding? Therefore I would still have to stop the agent service to prevent errors, etc, from being sent. Ignore Forever may prevent MOM from erroring on not being able to contact an agent but not prevent it from receiving information if it is sent?
