Problems Managing An Agent Outside of a Firewall

I'm trying to monitor a stand alone Windows 2000 server that is outside of our firewall. I have manually installed the Agent and selected 'None' for the Control file, added the node to the 'ManualMC.txt' file, opened port 1270, and added the Agent to the Central Server's host file.

I've added the Agent to the managed computer groups but it still does not show up under All Computers or Agents. Is there something I'm missing? I've followed the directions in the User Guide and Operations manual.

You need to remember that if an Agent cannot communicate via encryption (1270) it will try to communicate via unencryption (51515). Check the Event Log on both the Agent side and Consolidator for any communication errors.
