I have an external trust to another forest/domain that trusts the one that has the MOM Servers. The external domain contains several servers. I have manually installed the MOM agents, added them to ManualMC.txt, and they all show up fine in managed computers.

In addition, I have added the Domains Admin group, which contains the MOMService account, to the Administrators built-in group in the trusting domain. It is obvious that the Agents are not accepting rules due to the following error:

The Agent Manager experienced an error attempting to contact computer "XXXX" while resolving the Managed Computer Rules. The service account may lack necessary privileges, the computer may be offline, or the computer may be running something other than Windows NT or Windows 2000.

The net call failed in 3.203 seconds, without timing out.

System error code: 53
System error text: The network path was not found.

I also created a custom computer group, and it still shows 0 members.

This is common event due to security issues. Make sure that your MOM service account is administrator on the destination box. The simplest way to check is while you’re logged into the MOM server using your MOM service account, try to open an Admin share / connect to the registry remotely. I.E try to connect to \\server1\c$ or \\server1\admin$.
