We are
getting the following error on our DCAMs during the night (each night)
between 03:00 and 04:00 as our DCAMs temporarily lose contact with the SQL
database.
"Event and alert
insertion have resumed after a recoverable error"
Although the message
indicates that insertion has resumed, should I be concerned about loss of
information and what is causing this temporary lack of connection (Our
backups run over night but not during this time).
Also, I cannot find a corresponding event indicating when the lack of
connection occurred, only the reconnection.

As long as it stays at "recoverable error" you're OK. There is a more
serious version of this (which escapes me at the moment) which is along the
unrecoverable lines - then you have lost data, but this just indicates it
got too busy to write data, so cached it for a bit, then pushed it all in.
