I recently
installed MOM on a company server with SQL Server already installed on it. I
installed all components on one server because we only have a few servers to
monitor inside our local firewall.
After installation of my central computer, I made sure to reboot the
machine. I looked at the MOM Monitor and saw a 'Service
Unavailable' error.
Source:
OnePoint Operations
Name: Failed to prepare event for insertion
Description:
The Consolidator was unable to retrieve data from the EventSource table
while attempting to prepare an event's data for insertion into the database.
Will retry every 30 seconds.
Details: IDispatch error #3222
All of my pre
installation steps were accomplished correctly but I am not sure why this is
happening.

You can ignore this as long as when you
go and look in the 'All Windows NT
Events' view you can see your Windows
NT events relatively up to date. I have not got an official answer on this
but my thought is that this occurs because MOM attempts to write to the
database before it has initialized, resulting in said error.
Because there is no "autocorrection" facility yet in MOM, i.e. that if the
"fix" for an error comes in then it gets auto resolved, then this means that
this alert remains active event though the database does start receiving
data normally.
In other words, ignore it.

I'm 100% with Mike there, ignore it for now, but check on if the error
repeats on the long run.
