"This rule group may not be deleted because one or more rules in the group is associated with an alert"

I build my own "management pack" for one of the applications we run in our org. It took a while but it's done. Near the end of the process, I changed the design of the folders to change the way I associated computer groups. The problem is that I cannot delete the original folders. I get this error:

"This rule group may not be deleted because one or more rules in the group is associated with an alert"

The rule group has no rules! There are no alert events triggered off that particular location. I'm assuming there are existing, resolved alerts that reference the rules GUID?

You need to wait for the alerts that were associated with the group to be groomed out of the database. You can help speed this up by modifying the database grooming durations in Global Settings.
