What is the
fastest way to clear mom event table? Basically I want to clear all security
related event like logon/logoff.
I tried to run the database grooming job, but it runs very slow. It was only
able to clear 50,000 records in several hours, and the hard disk I/O is very
intensive while the jobs is running.
Any suggestions?

There's something you can do, depending on how critical is your MOM
installation:
1) Shutdown the connectivity between the DCAM / DB.
2) Trust on the different buffers for the information. You won't have Live
alerts, of course.
3) Groom the DB without the additional load.
4) Restore the connectivity.
5) MOST IMPORTANT: plan your grooming settings / Event collection rules so
this doesn't happen again.
This is much improved on MOM 2005 since the DB Tables are partitioned.
I know this is not a "High End" procedure, but an emergency one. Depending
on the criticality of your installation, do your research respect of the
supportability of this method.
