When you look into the system requirements for MOM SP1 it states that you need WINS in a pure Windows 2000 environment. Why is this? Is this really true?

Because normally in a pure Windows 2000 environment you do not need WINS especially if you have all Windows 2000/XP clients. Is this the case for Windows 2003 Server? I will install MOM onto a Member 2003 Server in my environment but I want to make sure this information is correct.

I believe the correct answer for this is because MOM does not support Fully Qualified Domain Names. Here's an article which may help as well:
