How Do I Install SQL and MOM on Different Machines?

Our architecture is to put SQL Server on one machine and MOM on another. The pre-requisite components for MOM installation include SQL Server 2000 or MSDE, otherwise the installation cannot continue. How can we work this out?

If you wish to install the MOM database on a separate server from the MOM DCAM you can install just the database component. To do this, when running MOM setup, select only the database component on your SQL server machine.

When installing MOM on your other server select the components you require, but do not select the database component. Make sure you install the database component first and that SQL Server is installed on this server prior to beginning the MOM setup.
