Do I need to Buy the NT4 Extended Management Pack (XMP), to Monitor an Exchange Server?

I have the Exchange 5.5 and SQL 7.0 AMP from Microsoft . Do I need the NT4 XMP from NetIQ as well ? Can I monitor an NT box running Exchange 5.5 or SQL 7 without deploying the NT4 XMP? I'm only interested in the statistics for Exchange and SQL.

There’s no licensing reason why not, but lots of the rules from the AMP rely on the Application log and you’re not going to get these events unless you buy the NT XMP. Hence technically and legally you will be fine, but you will miss most management information so basically you’re going to have to shell out for it.
