Resource Kit

The MOM Resource Kit includes three valuable tools to help you get the most out of MOM:

  • EventSim which replays Windows 2000 Event Logs back into Event Logs at different rates to test the event rules in Management Packs
  • RunMOMScript allows you to test scripts as though MOM was actually running them to ensure they work as planned
  • Server Status Monitor (SSM) enables you to check that a small group of servers are either up or down

The new updated version of the Software Development it (SDK2) is now available which includes samples and documentation for SP1 tools to help those wishing to automate and extend MOM, and samples to help you create your own Management Packs.  The SP1 tools covered include:

  • MOM WMI (Windows Management Instrumentation) Provider which allows programs to access MOM data and functions
  • SQL Server Views that allow you to access the data collected by Management Packs
  • Custom User Interface Views which allow the MOM console to be extenuated
