| I did a
search of all the servers in my domain and approved the ones I wanted to
manage. Now I see that every unmanaged computer showed up in the 'All
Computers Group' and
all and the appropriate child groups that rule their piece of the world. My
search yielded events showing up in the All Events for these unmanaged
computers as well. In fact every night MOM does a scan, I get a thousand
events for these unmanaged computers. I would like to stop seeing them and
getting noise from them. Any ideas?

newsgroup
I guess you had been using wildcard in the MCR list. As a first step check
out your MCR for wildcards, and change them to 'equal'.
In this way these computers won’t re-appear with the next scan.
Second, you can delete the *unmanaged* computer by selecting them, right
clicking on them and choosing to remove them.
Another approach is to add MCRs for the unmanaged computers to exclude them
as an exclude rule will override an include rule. If you include everything
with a wildcard and then exclude the specific ones you don't want to manage,
the end result will be only those computers you want to manage. The problem
with this approach though is that MOM will try to access all the computers
when using a wildcard, so if you have a *permission* problem on one computer
it will give you an error message on the DCAM although you excluded this
computer so there’s no escape.
