I have an Active Directory
integrated DNS (in other words all DNS objects are stored as objects in my AD).
I set auditing on for these objects. Now, whenever someone changes a DNS name or
IP address, it fires an Event log entry.
Cool, but now I want MOM to report these. So I’ve created an Event Processing
Rule which checks for Event ID 565. It seems easy, but although the Event log on
my DNS server shows the objects by name and address, when they are changed the
Event that MOM reports just has the GUIDs for the DNS name and address and not
the values.

After logging a call
with Microsoft it seems that MOM not translating the GUIDs is a bug that may be
fixed in the next Service Pack (it’s not fixed in SP1).
