Service Pack 1 for MOM is no ordinary SP.
As MOM was licensed from NetIQ (where it was known as 'Operations Manager'),
the first release of MOM was basically the Operations Managers product but
with the Microsoft logo on it. Since then Microsoft have been working
behind the scenes to make it more of a Microsoft product.
So how do you get your hands on it?
Well unlike other Service Packs there is no direct link to SP1 from the
Microsoft site because basically it is a complete version of the product (if
Microsoft did post a link they'd be giving away the full product free of
charge).
If you're lucky enough to be an MSDN subscriber then you'll get the new
version in the March release. If you have a Select Agreement you'll
also be getting the new version. For those of you that subscribe to
TechNet
you'll find it on the 'Downloads CD1' dated February 2003.
If none of the above applies to you and you already have a copy of MOM then
you can go to:
http://register.microsoft.com/regsys/regsys.asp?wizid=6335&lcid=1033
Clicking on this link will prompt you to sign
into Microsoft Passport where you can order a new MOM SP1 CD free of charge.
If you're not an existing MOM customer then using this link won't be of any
use as you still need a valid Product ID in order to install the software.
