Before the 18th September you couldn't use SUS to download and deploy Windows Service Packs.  However, Microsoft have now changed this.

Effectively immediately the first/ next time you synchronise your SUS server with Microsoft as well as downloading any Windows Critical Updates, Security Patches and Windows Update Rollups, it will now download both Windows XP SP1 and Windows 2000 and SP4 and any future Windows Service Packs as detailed on the SUS Homepage:
