When are Updates Posted to the SUS Site?

I'm a bit concerned that there seems to be a delay between my being notified of an critical patch or hotfix I should install on my systems and actually being able to download the patch/ hotfix from the Microsoft SUS site. Would I also be right in saying that in order for each workstation to receive updated drivers from the Windows Update section, each workstation needs to visit this section of this site? Finally, would I be right in saying that SUS doesn't work for Microsoft Office Updates?

Microsoft try to release Windows Update/SUS patches on the same day as the general bulletins are released. The Windows Update web site is refreshed on a weekly basis (on Wednesday evenings) so it's possible that there could be delay in getting some content posted.

You are correct about the updating drivers through SUS - it currently isn't available, but will likely be in the next version, along with the ability to get Critical Updates for Office.
