"Missing passwd entry for setuid method" Message when Trying to Login to the Tivoli Desktop

I'm trying to login to the Tivoli Desktop but I'm getting the following message:

"A failure was detected by the oserv daemon: Missing passwd entry for setuid method"

This problem is caused by the "User Login Name" being set incorrectly for the Tivoli Administrator in question.  To check the "User Login Name":

  1. Load the Tivoli Desktop.
     
  2. Double-click on the "Administrators" Collection.
     
  3. Right-click on the user in question and select "Edit Properties...".
     
  4. Check that the "User Login Name:" field contains either a valid operating system account or the name of a valid widmap ID Map (don't forget to precede the entry with a "$" sign if you're using an ID map).
     
  5. Press the "Change & Close" button.
     
  6. Get the user to try logging on again.
