In order to get rid of the ‘TME’ icon from the System Tray you need to run the 'lcfep.exe' command from a command prompt with the '–s' switch twice (don’t ask me why twice as running it once seems to get rid of the icon from the System Tray).

'lcfep' is the program that displays statistics about the Endpoint. Stopping/ removing this process has no impact on the Endpoint itself which will continue to function normally.

lcfep is kept in the following directory by default on Windows Endpoints:

C:\Tivoli\lcf\bin\w32-ix86\mrt\

When you run the 'lcfep –s' command it removes the following Registry key which stops the lcfep process from loading on boot:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run

If you just want to get rid of the Tivoli ‘Splash Screen’ that’s displayed when the lcfep process loads follow the information in the Can I Turn Off the Tivoli Splash Screen when My Users Login? article.

If you change your mind and want to put everything back simply run the 'lcfep –i' command which recreates the Registry entry to load lcfep automatically when the machine is started.
