In order to get rid of the ‘
TME’ icon from the System Tray you need to run the 'lcfep.exe' command from a command prompt with the '–s' switch twice (don’t ask me why twice as running it once seems to get rid of the icon from the System Tray).

'
lcfep' is the program that displays statistics about the Endpoint. Stopping/ removing this process has no impact on the Endpoint itself which will continue to function normally.

lcfep is kept in the following directory by default on Windows Endpoints:

C:\Tivoli\lcf\bin\w32-ix86\mrt\

When you run the 'lcfep –s' command it removes the following Registry key which stops the lcfep process from loading on boot:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run

If you just want to get rid of the Tivoli ‘Splash Screen’ that’s displayed when the lcfep process loads follow the information in the Can I Turn Off the Tivoli Splash Screen when My Users Login? article.

If you change your mind and want to put everything back simply run the '
lcfep –i' command which recreates the Registry entry to load lcfep automatically when the machine is started.
